EU Studies courses are offered in all of the three member universities. Regardless of where they are granted, credits in EU Studies courses will be recognised for obtaining the Certificate*.

* Different conditions apply at different universities/faculties. Ask your home university’s Student Affairs for details.
3.Research papers on the EU
To cap off their EU studies, students must present a research paper on the EU from a social science approach (law, politics, economics, business management, etc.).
Paper Proposed: approximately 20,000 - 40,000 words in Japanese; approximately 7,000 - 14,000 words in English, French or German. Students may seek academic advice from a supervisor. If the paper is judged to have reached an acceptable level, credits will be granted.

If a student’s paper is recognised as outstanding, he/she will be offered the opportunity to participate in the EU Studies Colloquium, where students are invited to present and discuss their research findings in either Japanese, English, French or German before a jury that comprises EU staff from the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, business leaders, diplomats and researchers from Europe. Students participating in the EU Studies Colloquium receive a prize.
